<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quick and simple method for detecting Mycoplasma genitalium, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma parvum and Ureaplasma urealyticum. <P>SOLUTION: PCR is carried out by using a DNA obtained from a specimen as a template and using a primer pair capable of highly amplifying the DNAs of both Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma. The amplification product is subjected to hybridization using a nucleic acid probe specific to Mycoplasma genitalium, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma parvum and Ureaplasma urealyticum to detect the formation of a hybrid and the Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma are detected based on the detection result of the hybrid formation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
