摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst supporting method of suppressing the procepitation of a catalytic metal on a carrier as an alloy containing the catalytic metal such as palladium or the like and a reducing agent component such as phorsphorus or the like as principal components, suppressing the arising of a problem of lowering of catalytic activity, that is, a catalytic capacity and also suppressing the arising of a problem generating an undesired harmful gas such as clorine gas, nitric acid gas, a subfluric acid gas. <P>SOLUTION: A first solution containing first metal ions baser in standard electrode potential and larger in ionization tendency than the catalytic metal is brought into contact with a carrier to support first metal ions on the carrier to perform a first supporting process. Thereafter, a second solution containing ions of the catalytic metal is brought into contact with the carrier to perform a second supporting process for precipitating the catalytic metal on the carrier by oxidation-reduction reaction for oxidizing first metal ions supported on the carrier and also reducing ions of the catalytic metal.
