PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method requiring no special debugging port and no use of an ICE (Image Compute Engine) in developing firmware particularly having a communication function for an external device. SOLUTION: A debugging device has: a monitoring control section having a superior control section monitoring and controlling a device and a memory; a memory housing a subordinate control section operated by control from the control section and firmware controlling the subordinate control section; a memory command transmission/response section located in the memory of the superior control section and transmitting a memory command debugging the subordinate control section and reading/writing the memory and receiving a debugging result from the subordinate control section; and a memory command reception/response section located in the memory of the subordinate control section and receiving the memory command from the superior control section and giving the debugging-executed result.
