PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic flash device of a small size which changes light distribution characteristics without moving a lens in parallel and reduces decrease in ambient light quantity. SOLUTION: The electronic flash device is formed by making the whole of a reflecting plate of a reflector or part of the plate on an exit opening side movable in parallel cooperatively with an opposite direction orthogonal to a plane inclusive of a bar-like light source.
