PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a core member small-sized and lightweight by preventing the core member from magnetically being saturated owing to its temperature rise even when made thin. SOLUTION: A fixing device is provided with a fixing means which has a heat roller 2 and a pressure roller 3 pressed against the heat roller 2 and heats and presses a form P passed between the heat roller 2 and pressure roller 3, and an induction heating means 13 which is provided in the heat roller 2 and heats the heat roller 2 by induction. The induction heating means 13 comprises the core member 12 and an exciting coil 11 which is wound around the core member 12, and B is made larger than the value of L/R×0.3 and less than D/3, where D is the internal diameter of the heat roller 2, L the inductance (μH) of the exciting coil 11, R the resistance (Ω) of the heat roller 2, B the thickness of a part of the core member 12 which faces at least the heat roller 2.
