PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical recording medium for obtaining low jitters where there is no distribution due to location by a short mark by controlling oxygen in an interface between each layer. SOLUTION: This magneto-optical recording medium has at least a 1st magnetic layer, a 2nd magnetic layer, and a 3rd magnetic layer in order, namely, the 1st magnetic layer having a temperature range in which ferromagnetic domain wall coercivity is reduced between a room temperature and a Curie temperature, the 2nd magnetic layer having a Curie temperature lower than the 1st magnetic layer and the 3rd magnetic layer, and the 3rd magnetic layer having vertical magnetic anisotropy. Oxygen contained in the interface between the 1st magnetic layer and the 2nd magnetic layer and the interface between the 2nd magnetic layer and the 3rd magnetic layer is extremely little.
