METHOD FOR PREDICTING EFFECTIVENESS OF INTERFERON BETA MEDICINE TREATMENT TO MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting the presence of medicinal efficacy simply and with high reliability without increasing a load on the patient when a patient of multiple sclerosis is treated by medicine due to interferon beta. SOLUTION: A database which records the correlation between the presence of the medicinal efficacy of the interferon beta administration, and an interferon inducing protein, interferon regulatory factor and the expression level of the gene of a chemokine is used. The presence of the medicinal efficacy of the interferon administration is predicted by measuring the expression level of the gene thereof from mRNA derived from peripheral blood leukocyte of a subject.
