PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jitter measurement method which enables the measurement for a short time. SOLUTION: The jitter measurement of digital communication signals is accomplished by generating samples representing jitters in a plurality of continuous digital communication signals, and feeding these continuous samples to a plurality of high pass filter functions in parallel, thereby generating filtered samples. The filtered samples from the respective high pass filter functions are passed to respective measurement functions for parameter measurements of the filtered samples from the corresponding high pass filter functions. The parameter includes the jitter peak amplitude and the jitter RMS amplitude. The parameter measurements provided by the measurement functions are selected based on measurement bandwidth for which the jitter measurement is required. The jitter measurements of the communication signals are obtained from these parameter measurements. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
