MEASURING METHOD OF DEPOSIT ON INSIDE FACE OF PIPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method of deposits on an inside face of a pipe enabling easy, sure measurement of contaminants having a thickness of not more than 1 cm and adhering on the inside face of the pipe witha small error. SOLUTION: The measuring method of measuring the deposits on the inside face of thepipe for measuring presence/absence of the deposits on the inside face of the pipe or a thickness of a deposition layer having a thickness of 1-10 mm comprises the steps of bringing a pair of probes 2 connected to an ultrasonic oscillator and arranged with a specified distance near to a wall face 4 of the pipe as an object of measurement, transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic wave between the probes to propagate a plate wave (Lamb wave) 6 to the wall face 4 and comparing a wave form of the ultrasonic wave received by the probe 2 with a reference wave form received in either a deposit-present/absent state or a state with the deposit layer having a known thickness.
