PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize amount used of pH regulating agent when suppressing corrosion generated in a boiler device by using the pH regulating agent. SOLUTION: This boiler device 1 is provided with a boiler 2 for heating feed water to generate steam, a water feed part 3 for feeding the feed water to the boiler 2, and a steam supply part 5 for supplying the steam generated by the boiler 2 to a load apparatus 4. This method is a method for suppressing corrosion in the boiler 2 by using the pH regulating agent. The method includes a measurement process for measuring total carbonic acid concentration of the feed water in a water pouring passage 8 of the water feed part 3 and a pH regulating agent supply process for supplying the pH regulating agent to the water feed part 3 based on the measurement result in the measurement process.
