PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut an existing pipe made of a cast iron pipe or a steel pipe without requiring a sealed case to rotate as many times. SOLUTION: Part of the existing pipe 1 is surrounded by the sealed case 2 airtightly and a machining tool 30 having a plurality of cutting edges 30c is accommodated in the sealed case in an attached state thereto. The tool 30 is rotated by a prime mover and fed toward the center of the pipe 1 while machining the existing pipe 1, and cutting is made by the tool 30 on the pipe 1 by rotating the sealed case 2 in the circumferential direction R of the pipe 1.
