PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a structure for underfloor ventilation that can be achieved without providing an air vent in the rising part of a strip footing. SOLUTION: The method for underfloor ventilation is applied to a building that uses a continuous foundation such as a strip footing B. Using an air-permeable sill cover 1D, underfloor ventilation is achieved without the need to provide an air vent in the rising part of the strip footing B. The structure K for underfloor ventilation is applied to a building that uses a continuous foundation such as a strip footing B. The sill cover 1 is, e.g., a shell-like body 1D. A vent hole 7 that communicates with an underfloor portion from the outside is formed in the shell-like body 1D to make the sill cover 1D air-permeable to achieve underfloor ventilation without providing an air vent in the rising part of the strip footing B.
