PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving a hybrid compressor for a vehicle air conditioner that can start a predetermined compressor in a short time by a simple operation. SOLUTION: This method of driving a hybrid compressor that is installed on a freezing system of a vehicle air conditioner and that can be driven by driving sources of electric motors built in an engine mounted on the vehicle or another driving source and a compressor, starts the compressor by the engine mounted on the vehicle or the other driving source when it is impossible or difficult to start the hybrid compressor by the electric motor, and to switch to the driving by the electric motor or adds the driving by the electric motor after a while.
