PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To particularly carry out following traveling to a preceding car well when starting. SOLUTION: A preceding car speed is detected based on an own car speed calculated by a wheel speed sensor 13 and a main ECU 19 and an inter-vehicular distance of the own car and the preceding car detected by an inter-vehicular distance sensor 14. The main ECU 19 sets a target car speed of the own car based on a value obtained by converting the detected preceding car speed using a conversion equation memorized in a memory part 18 and carries out a traveling control of the own car based on the set target car speed when it starts from the stopping state and performs following-traveling to the preceding car.
