The invention relates to devices for the alignment of a covering (01) applied to a cylinder (02) in a printing machine, said devices being provided with a stop (14) and a roller element (17). The device is characterised in that the stop (14) is arranged in the mounting direction of the covering (01) upstream from the roller element (17), whereby the covering which is to be mounted on the cylinder (02) engages with the stop (01). Alternatively, the rolling element (17) acts as a stop itself. The invention also relates to methods for aligning or mounting a covering on a cylinder in a printing machine with the aid of a stop or a roller element.
