The grid has a frame (F), and inside the frame there is a grid portion made of lead and having a given pattern. The grid has two sections (1,2) mounted in the frame and which are separated from each other by a fiber glass insert (3). Molten lead is applied to both sides of the grid so that it fills in the given pattern while adhering to the insert. An independent claim is included for a method of manufacturing grids for lead battery plates. |
