PURPOSE: A DC breaker for breaking small current and a breaking method thereof are provided to break easily the small current below the rated load current by inducing the arc current to an arc extinguishing room. CONSTITUTION: A DC breaker for breaking small current includes a frame, a main contact unit(5), and an arc extinguishing room(11). The main contact unit(5) is installed at an upper end of the frame. The main contact unit(5) includes a movable contact(5-1) and a fixing contact(5-2). The arc extinguishing room(11) is installed at the upper end of the frame corresponding to the main contact unit(5). The arc extinguishing room(11) includes a plurality of arc extinguishing plates to extinguish the rising arc current. The DC breaker for breaking small current further includes a brow coil assembly(110), which is installed at the frame.
