Polymer compositions comprise one of polyisobutylene, polypropylene, ethylene-propylene rubbers and copolymers of isobutylene and a minor amount of isoprene with 250 to 500 parts (per 100 parts by weight of polymer) of a severely attrited coke with surface area from 10 to 250 m2g-1, pH from 2 to 5 and oxygen content from 0.2 to 7.0%. The coke serves both as a filler and a curing agent for the polymer.ALSO:A severely attrited coke with surface area from 10 to 250 m2g-1, pH from 2 to 5 and oxygen content from 0.2 to 7.0% is claimed per se. It can be prepared from coke derived from anthracite, bituminous coal, or preferably petroleum, said coke preferably being uncalcined by grinding with steel balls in a ball mill for up to 48 hours, e.g. 5 to 25 hours, at 20 DEG to 95 DEG C. |
