The display device has a display surface (12) and at least one operating element (14) for selecting the display of a data value. The data value represents an operating condition of elements or appliances in the caravan or ambient parameters such as temperature, humidity, smoke or gas inside or outside the caravan. The display device (10) is releasably connected to a terminal contact (18) of a terminal device (16) for data transmission. The terminal device is connected to an apparatus for connecting a current source to electric loads in the caravan, in a data transmitting manner.
