摘要 PURPOSE: A method and a device for audio decoding to recover high frequency components by a small calculation amount are provided to reduce the calculation amount required for recovering high frequency components by half in the audio post processing by using mode information shaving information on the correlation between first and second channel signals. CONSTITUTION: A device for audio decoding to recover high frequency components by a small calculation amount includes an MP3 decoder(210) receives MPEG-1 layer 3 audio signals to decode the signals to PCM signals. The MP3 audio signals include mode information. A mode information analyzing part(220) analyzes the mode information and transmits the analyzed values to a high frequency component generating part(230). The high frequency component generating part generates high frequency components for each channel according to the mode information values. The high frequency components are generated according to whether the mode information is a joint stereo mode value or a stereo mode value. The joint stereo mode value represents the high similarity between left and right channel signals. The stereo mode value represent no similarity therebetween.
