PURPOSE: A shelf assembly of a refrigerator is provided to place a separate storage space beneath a steel shelf so as to maximize space efficiency in the refrigerator. CONSTITUTION: A shelf assembly includes a steel shelf(20) installed in a refrigerator compartment, and forming the outline, and a plurality of supporting bars(24) installed in the frame in front-rear direction or left-right direction; a cover(30) put on and supported by an upper part of the steel shelf, and includes a pair of fixing parts(36) extended down from both sides of a bottom thereof to penetrate the steel shelf and having lower ends extended inwardly to face each other; and a storage container having stepped rail grooves(42) formed on both sides thereof to be fixed by the fixing parts, and having an opening upper side. The fixing parts and the rail grooves are extended in front-rear direction to allow the storage container to be opened and closed by drawer method. Fixed grooves(32) are formed on a bottom of the cover to be inserted to the supporting bars of the steel shelf.
