PURPOSE: Locking structure of a glove box for a vehicle is provided to store various articles efficiently in the glove box and to improve convenience and reliability by minimizing the operational space for opening the glove box with actuating a hook lever up and down in the containing groove. CONSTITUTION: A locking system of a glove box comprises a housing(200) having an assembling part(210) fixed to a cover member(110) attached to the front of the glove box, a fitting sill(240) restricting a striker(120) extended from a dash panel, an assembling hole(220) and a containing groove(230) opening out at one side; a hinge shaft(300) inserted to the assembling hole; a return spring(310) elastically mounted in the housing; a hook lever(400) reciprocated up and down along the containing groove, contacted to the return spring, and composed of a fitting projection(410) protruded out of the containing groove and a guide part(420); and a release lever(500) having an assembling hole(510) turned around the hinge shaft and installed in the housing, and a push projection(520) protruded in the upper part to press the fitting projection.
