PURPOSE: To achieve an auxiliary input device which provides portability and operationality compatibly. CONSTITUTION: An input part 20 has a predetermined contact face of a tablet or the like, and inputs, as writing information, information on a position where a writing medium has made contact with the predetermined contact face. A character recognition means 21 performs character recognition based on the writing information to acquire the character recognition result. A connection part 3 is connectable to an external device such as a cell phone, and can transmit, on connection, a first candidate character of the character recognition result obtained with the character recognition means 21 as transmission information.
