A doll has a head portion universally mounted on a hollow body 12 and carrying a weighted end portion 40 extending into the body to position the centre of gravity of the combination of the head portion and of the weighted portion within the body. In Fig. 3 the head is attached to a cup shaded portion 36 which bears an elongated pivot member 40 which comprises an extending portion holding the weight 46 and a conical section 42 which is supported in a conical depression 30 in the arm 28 attached to the body. The conical section 42 is held in the depression 30 by the ledge 44 abutting the surface 32 of the arm 28. Turning of the head is restricted by the pivot member 40 abutting the arm 28. The head may carry a magnet 50 which in conjunction with magnetised articles e.g. spoons and feeding bottles may be used to turn the head during play.</p> |
