A combustor (2) for a gas turbine engine comprising at least one combustor air intake chute (24) wherein at least one of the air intake chutes (24) is configured to enhance the heat transfer relationship between the chute material and the air flowing over it. The air intake chutes (24) have at least one raised feature (25) formed on their inner surface that extends into the airflow passing through the chute (24). The raised features (25) may take the form of a circumferential rib (26), an axial rib (28) or a pedestal (30), or any combination of the same.
