The fitting comprises a rounded plate (13) pivotally secured to a protruding axle journal, one plate being provided for each leg (11). The plate can be swung between a resting position and two opposing end positions. The pivot axis for the plate is asymmetric relative to a peripheral contour line for the plate, enabling the furniture to be rocked when moved backwards and forwards at right angles to the journals.
