FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: one should carry out circular scleral pressing in followed by subtotal vitrectomy. One should introduce 3%-indocyanine green solution in methylcellulose into posterior departments of vitreous body. Preretinal membranes are removed. Intravitreal tamponade should be carried out. The method enables to detect topography and length of preretinal membranes, decrease the chance for toxic retinal lesion due to decreased concentration of dying solution, it, also, provides separation of preretinal membranes against retina due to viscoelastic properties of methylcellulose, decreases dye-stuff dissolving in liquid medium in cavity of vitreous body.
