FIELD: machine engineering, namely cold expanding of parts such as bodies of revolution for making parts with desired geometry and size. SUBSTANCE: method for expanding parts such as rings by means of shaped expanding tool due to forced rotation of them under load comprises steps of arranging rotation axis of expanding tool by acute angle relative to rotation axis of part; determining profile of expanding tool in dependence upon value of said angle.
