PURPOSE: An optical information recording device is provided to suppress the deterioration of the overwritable phase transition type optical disk due to the repeated recording so that the number of possible overwriting is increased. CONSTITUTION: A recording and reproducing method for an optical information recording medium in which a light beam is irradiated to change a state of a photo-sensitive record layer, wherein write data to be recorded into each sector of the optical information recording medium includes a synchronizing signal, a data head indicating mark added to the end of the synchronizing signal, and original write data following the data head indicating mark, and wherein a length of the synchronizing signal area is altered at every recording.
