FIELD: agriculture, in particular, cultivation of roots during preemergence and postemergence growing periods. SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary cutting of narrow ridges; embedding seeds in ridges; caring for young crops by providing inter-row tillage procedures by cultivator; during presowing period after cutting of ridges, forming beds by acting upon ridge top with the use low-speed horizontal cutters for forming of 0.005-0.5 m depth seed beds; also, during care stage, providing stage-by-stage increase in the height of ridges and simultaneously increasing their width while forming bed side inclination angle of 10-89 deg with respect to bed vertical axis. Apparatus has mobile power unit and cultivator composed of sections mounted on bars. Each section is composed of slitter and disks-coverers arranged rearward of slitter and equipped with circumferential mellowing members. Ribbed drums are positioned behind sections and provided with mellowing members mounted on ribs. Tip of each mellowing member of disk-coverer is spaced from vertical plane extending through horizontal and vertical axes of symmetry of section by greater or equal distance than base. Angle beta and height of arrangement of disk-coverer are adjusted by means of adjustment unit. EFFECT: simplified method and process, improved quality of soil mellowing during presowing period by inter-row tillage procedure and reduced labor intensity. 3 cl, 7 dwg |
