FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: proposed automatic coupler contains two one-type coupling heads 1 and 2, each provided with receiving hole with axle arranged horizontally, and locking device 4-1 and 4-2, guide member 5 with cylindrical and conical surfaces made for removing with possibility of fitting in receiving hole on any of coupling heads coaxially with receiving hole of other coupling head. Each coupling head is provided with shank 11-1, 11-2 and centering device 12-1,12-2 made to form clearance between support flat of centering device and shank of head after coupling. Pair of coaxially arranged parts of first of locking devices is designed for rigidly fixing of guide member, and pair of coaxially arranged parts of second locking device is provided for shifting the lock in second holes of guide member at coupling the cars.
