PURPOSE: A VSB demodulator device for a digital TV receiver is provided to improve the performance for far ghost having serious data pattern jitter while keeping the performance for near ghost by adding a simple PED controller. CONSTITUTION: A VSB demodulator device for a digital TV receiver includes an A/D converter(100), a phase separator(200), a multiplier(300), and a carrier wave recovering part(400). The carrier wave recovering part includes a frequency phase error detector(410), a phase error detecting(PED) controller(420), a loop filter(430), and an NCO(440). The frequency phase error detector detects frequency offset/phase errors from pilot signals of a base band output from the multiplier, and outputs the detected frequency offset/phase errors to the loop filter via the PED. The loop filter filters the outputs from the frequency phase error detector and outputs the filtered ones to the NCO after integration. The NCO generates complex sine waves in proportion to the outputs of the loop filter to output to the multiplier. The carrier wave recover means the process for acquisition and tracking of data in the frequency offset and the phase noise minimizing direction.
