STRUCTURE FOR SUPPORTING DRIVING UNIT OF WASHING MACHINE

PURPOSE: Supporting structure of a driving unit for a washing machine is provided to improve washing efficiency, to prevent noise and wrong operation, and to reduce energy consumption by directly transmitting driving force of a motor to a drum with modifying the supporting structure of the driving unit. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine comprises a plastic tub(2) installed in a cabinet; a drum(3) installed in the tub; a shaft(4) transmitting driving force of a motor(5) to the drum; a bearing supporting the shaft; a metal bearing housing(7) cylindrically formed in the middle portion to support the bearing; a rotor(13) surrounding a stator(14), and having a side wall surface(13b) placing a permanent magnet and a rear wall surface supporting the shaft connected to the drum; a tub rear wall(200) forming and mounting the metal bearing housing by injection-molding; and a supporter(17) fastened between the tub rear wall and the stator, composed of plural horizontal planes corresponding to the rear wall and a recessed part, and protruded for the tub rear wall from the horizontal plane.
