<p>PURPOSE: To provide an induction heating tempering apparatus for a cylindrical member which has a variation in thickness such as a cylinder block. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of heating coils 110 to 410 each consisting of two pieces of circular-arcuate conductors 11 and 12 forming a prescribed gap with the inside of a cylinder and having an arc length corresponding to the thickness part C of a cylinder wall are arranged so that the circular-arcuate conductors 11 and 12 correspond to the thickness part C of the cylinder wall. The inside circumference of the cylinder is heated to a uniform temperature, and is tempered. The circular-arcuate conductors 11 and 12 are arranged at a plurality of cylinders 1, 2, 3 and 4. The heating coils 110 to 410 are connected in series or in parallel, and the insides of the plurality of cylinders are simultaneously heated and tempered.</p> |
