PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for inspecting a nozzle of an ink jet printer are provided to inspect a spraying function of a plurality of nozzles by detecting an electric signal generated from a cantilever and a piezoelectric device. CONSTITUTION: A nozzle inspection device includes a base plate(50) for supporting the nozzle inspection device. A cantilever(52) is formed at one side of the base plate(50). A first electrode(54) is provided in such a manner that the first electrode(54) covers a predetermined area of the cantilever(52) and the base plate(50). A piezoelectric device(56) is located in a predetermined position corresponding to the predetermined area of the cantilever(52) and the base plate(50). A second electrode(58) is formed on the piezoelectric device(56). A signal detector(60) is provided between the first and second electrodes(54,58) so as to detect signals generated from the first and second electrodes(54,58).
