PURPOSE: A dehydrating method of sludge from steel manufacturing process is provided, which is characterized in that belt press is used, thus continuous dehydration of sludge is possible. CONSTITUTION: The size of sludge which is produced from steel manufacturing process is including particles nearly less than 1 micrometer. Water in the sludge is cavernous water which is surrounded by solid particles, bound moisture which is surrounded by high density solid particles, and chemical bound moisture which can not be separated mechanically. The method leads to separate cavernous water and reform the density of the sludge. The sludge will be dropped into a first activation tank(30) with coke and mixed by mixer(34). Then, acid solution will be added, and the sludge will be transferred to a second activation tank(32). Cohesive agent is added to make flux, the sludge(36) is pressed by belt press(40) on the filtration membrane(42) to make dehydrated cake(44).
