PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing chips of open channel type chip way is provided to send grinding fluid in chips accumulated on the open channel type chip way back to the chip way and separate iron and magnetic particles separately from the chips so that the separated iron and magnetic particles are removed. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for removing chips from open channel type chip way into which chips discharged from grinder are collected, the apparatus for removing chips of the open channel type chip way comprises a main body(10) moved along the bottom of the chip way; buckets mounted on the main body(10) in such a manner that the buckets are moved in a caterpillar form to shovel and carry chips collected on the bottom of the chip way; rolling mill lubricant separation rolls(51,52) mounted on the main body(10) to separate rolling mill lubricant from the chips by pressing the chips supplied through the buckets as the rolling mill lubricant separation rolls(51,52) are being rotated with being engaged with each other; crushing rolls(62,63) mounted on the main body(10) to crush the chips discharged from the rolling mill lubricant separation rolls(51,52) as the crushing rolls(62,63) are being rotated with being engaged with each other; an iron separation belt(70) which is magnetic, moved in a caterpillar form and mounted on the main body(10) in such a way that the iron separation belt(70) receives the chips discharged from the crushing rolls(62,63); and a scraper(74) installed at a position to which the iron separation belt(70) is recovered so that the scraper(74) removes the scraped iron by scraping iron adhered to the iron separation belt(70).
