PURPOSE: Provided is a pharmaceutical composition which effectively intercepts the passage of K+ mainly manifested in the atrium of the human body and is used for the treatment of the arrhythmia. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition comprises chelidonine represented by the formula 1, derivatives thereof, and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers. In the formula 1, R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, hydroxy, lower alkoxy with 1-5 carbons, benzyloxy, lower alkylcarbonyloxy with 1-5 carbons, benzoyloxy, lower alkylsulphonyloxy with 1-5 carbons, arylsulphonyloxy, diphenylphosphonyloxy group and OCONH2 group, R2 is hydrogen or methyl group, and R3, R4 and R5 are hydrogen; or R1 forms a double bond with R2 or R3, R2 forms a double bond with R3, or R5 forms a double bond with neighboring N.
