摘要 PURPOSE: A device and a method for signal processing of a digital video system are provided to obtain visually improved screen quality by adding a lower bit to an upper bit according to a vertical synchronizing signal instead of dropping the lower bit when an image signal qualified to 8 bit or higher is input. CONSTITUTION: A device for signal processing of a digital video system includes an NAND gate(10), a decoder(12), a pulse generator(14), a selector(16), first and second AND gates(20,22), and an adder(24). The NAND gate is input by upper 8 bits from S2 to S9, and the decoder is input by lower 2 bits of S0 and S1. Output values of the decoder are transmitted to the selector. The selector has an input terminal(V1) grounded and the other input terminals(V2-V4) receiving values output from output terminals(X0-X2) of the decoder. According to an input value of the pulse generator, the selector selects and outputs one of the input values. The pulse generator receives a vertical synchronizing signal to generate signal waveform of V and V/2. The adder adds the values of S9-S2 to bit values of the first and second AND gates, and outputs 8 bit values to N0-N7.
