PURPOSE: A device for adjusting front and rear positions of a grinding shaft for a bow-shaped grinding machine is provided to precisely adjust the front and rear positions of a grinding stone by precisely adjusting the longitudinal direction of the grinding shaft and accordingly to accurately hold a processing center of a workpiece and the grinding stone even in tiny dimensional variations of the workpiece and precisely process the workpiece. CONSTITUTION: A device for adjusting front and rear positions of a grinding shaft(10) for a bow-shaped grinding machine and for axially moving back and forth the grinding shaft fixed and installed with a grinding stone for grinding one of lower, upper, and both sides of a workpiece is composed of a nut groove(11) formed at the side of a slide(8) in the longitudinal direction of a fixing shaft(10a) rotatively supporting the grinding shaft; a bearing guide groove(11a) with a large diameter arranged to the outside of the nut groove; a bearing(13) installed to the center of an adjusting lever(12) having a bolt unit(12a) combined with the nut groove and arranged to the bearing guide grove formed at the slide; a sill(12b) for supporting the side of the bearing integrally formed at the center of the adjusting lever; a fixing ring(12c) for supporting the other side of the bearing installed to the center of the adjusting lever; a bearing inserting groove(14) in which some portions of the peripheral surface of the bearing is inserted, formed at the side of the fixing shaft; a sensing device for sensing the front and rear positions of the fixing shaft; and a fixing device for fixing the fixing shaft.
