PURPOSE: A monitoring service method using a communication network is provided to periodically receive and store monitoring image data from a monitoring site and transmit a certain quantity of the stored data to a designated place such as a police station when an event is generated to analyze the cause of the event. CONSTITUTION: A monitoring site is registered in a monitoring server of a monitoring service center(S1). The monitoring site transmits monitoring image data in which a monitoring area is photographed and a sensing signal to the monitoring server(S2). The monitoring server receives the monitoring image data transmitted from the registered monitoring site, classifies the received monitoring image data according to each monitoring site, and stores the classified monitoring image data(S3). If an event is generated(S4), the monitoring server notifies the generation of the event to a set manager(S5,S6). The monitoring server transmits a certain quantity of the monitoring image data to a designated place such as a police station(S7).
