PURPOSE: To provide an information processing apparatus capable of efficiently processing stream data without incurring an increase in bus traffic. CONSTITUTION: A home server 11 is provided with a stream processor 115 including: a first interface connected to a disk storage device 117; and a second interface connected to a TV tuner 114 in addition to a CPU 111 for managing data recorded in the disk storage section 117. The stream processor 115 executes writing of data to the disk storage device 117 and reading of data from the disk storage device 117 in response to a disk access request from the CPU 111. By employing the stream processor 115, the stream data received by the TV tuner 114 to the disk storage device 117 not through a PCI bus 100 under the control of the CPU 111.
