PURPOSE: A telephone capable of downloading data to a remote place and a method therefor are provided to receive SMS(Short Message Service) data or caller ID data and confirm the SMS data or the caller ID data in the remote place by embodying a data download function in the telephone capable of receiving the SMS data or the caller ID data. CONSTITUTION: An interface unit(122) interfaces SMS data or caller ID data received through a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network)(100). A detecting unit(128) detects a transmission preliminary signal included in the SMS data or the caller ID data received through the interface unit(122). A control unit(124) discriminates the transmission preliminary signal detected by the detecting unit(128), performs a control operation so that it is possible to receive the SMS data or the caller ID data, and controls that the SMS data or the caller ID data are downloaded to a remote terminal. A receiving unit(129) demodulates and processes the SMS data or the caller ID data by the control of the control unit(124). A storing unit(126) stores the data processed in the receiving unit(129) by the control of the control unit(124). |
