PURPOSE: An FRP(Fiber reinforced plastic) hollow structure for a vehicle with overlap construction and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reinforce the bonding rigidity by maximizing the bonding area of an upper cover and a lower cover with overlapping sides of upper and lower covers, and to improve the appearance by forming the bonding line under the hollow structure. CONSTITUTION: A hollow structure is composed of a lower cover(1) and an upper cover(2), and made of FRP. A first side part(12) is integrally formed at both sides of a first ceiling part(11) and bent downward. An inner bonding part(13) is integrally formed with the first ceiling part and the first side part and bent outward. An assembling part is formed in the end of the first side part and extended horizontally, and an inner bonding part(13') is extended upward from the assembling part. A second ceiling part(21) and a second side part(22) are integrally formed in the upper cover, and spaced from the first ceiling part and the first side part. An outer bonding part(23) is bent inward at the second ceiling part and the second side part, and mounted to the inner bonding part. The upper cover is overlapped on the lower cover in the hollow structure.
