DUAL STAGE PASSENGER AIR-BAG MODULE

PURPOSE: A dual stage passenger air-bag module is provided to easily control and change gas pressure and reduce the size and weight of the air-bag module by installing a small-sized driver inflator to the passenger air-bag module. CONSTITUTION: A dual stage passenger air-bag module(600) comprises an air cushion(100); a housing(300) receiving the air cushion; a first inflator(500a) installed to one side wall in the housing; a second inflator(500b) installed to the other side wall in the housing in the diagonal direction of the first inflator; a cushion holder(200) mounted in the air cushion, to fix the air cushion to the inside of the housing; a retainer(400) combined to the housing, to support the air cushion on the first and second inflators; and a control unit electrically connected with the first and second inflators, to successively control the movements of the first and second inflators. The first and second inflators each comprises an upper case forming plural gas discharge holes and a lower case combined to the lower part of the upper case. The first and second inflators are mounted to a driver air-bag module mounted to a steering wheel.
