PURPOSE: A method for outputting a bell sound of a telephone is provided to designate/store specific bell sounds, respectively, for many telephone numbers, and to search a called telephone number from the stored telephone numbers, then to output a bell sound corresponding to the called telephone number, thereby easily confirming a caller. CONSTITUTION: A controller detects a signal received through a transceiver and an antenna, and decides whether the signal is received(30). If so, the controller decides whether the signal is in designated bell sound output mode(32). If so, the controller extracts a called telephone number(34). The controller retrieves a telephone number storage, and decides whether a specific bell sound is designated for the extracted telephone number(36). If so, the controller outputs the specific bell sound, so that a user distinguishes a caller(38).
