VEHICLE TIRE WITH TRANSVERSE GROOVES HAVING ASYMMETRICAL CROSS-SECTIONAL ANGLE

PURPOSE: A vehicle tire with transverse grooves having asymmetrical cross-sectional angle is provided to improve pulling of the tire by controlling ply steer residual aligning torque with forming the cross-sectional angle of asymmetrical structure in the transverse groove of the tread pattern. CONSTITUTION: A transverse groove has non-directional tread pattern in a tire of a vehicle, and the cross-sectional angle of the transverse groove in the tread pattern is asymmetrical. The difference of cross-sectional angles is formed to be within the range of 1 - 30 angular degrees. The cross-sectional angles of the transverse groove of a rib or a block are asymmetrical in the shoulder of the tire, and the cross-sectional angles of the transverse groove of the rib or the block are asymmetrical in the middle of the tread pattern of the tire. The freedom of design of tread pattern is improved at the initial stage without setting the angle of the transverse groove. Ply steer residual aligning torque is controlled by forming the asymmetrical cross-sectional angle of the transverse groove.
