The invention relates to a rock drill support for supporting a rock drill (12) during drilling of boreholes into a stope face located in a stope defined between a hanging wall and a foot wall. The support includes a suspension arrangement (22) for suspending a rock drill (12) from the hanging wall adjacent the stope face during drilling of boreholes in a drilling direction into the stope face by the rock drill (12), and for permitting operative displacement of the rock drill (12) relative to the stope face in a direction which is transverse to the drilling direction. The suspension arrangement (22) is typically in the form of an elongate track (24) of which the lengthwise direction is more or less parallel to the stope face. The invention extends to a method of drilling into a stope face, which method includes suspending a rock drill (12) from the hanging wall during drilling of boreholes into the stope face.
