PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication apparatus provided with a filter whereby low power consumption can be attained while suppressing the effect of a transmission signal on an adjacent frequency band. SOLUTION: The wireless communication apparatus is provided with a transmission section 101 to transmit a transmission signal 115, and the transmission section 101 is provided with a digital filter 107 for limiting a band of a baseband signal 102 being a source of the baseband signal 102 and a CPU 118 for setting a circuit condition of its arithmetic circuit. The CPU 118 changes the settings to have proper circuit conditions for minimizing the effect on the adjacent frequency band in response to a change in transmission power of the transmission signal 115. Thus, the arithmetic amount of the digital filter 107 and the power consumption attended therewith can be changed depending on the settings of the circuit conditions. Thus, the power consumption of the digital filter 107 of the wireless communication apparatus can be reduced more than that of the case with a fixed circuit condition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
