PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for conveniently displaying the location of a mobile terminal. SOLUTION: The location display system is provided with a mobile telephone set 1, a location information server 2 for calculating the map information and the location, and a base station 3. A display part 11 of the mobile telephone set displays the azimuth of a target spot with the mobile telephone set 1 as a reference, a height difference between the target spot and a present spot, a linear distance on a contour plane between the target spot and the present spot, and the like. Until the map acquisition is requested from the holder of a mobile telephone set 1, only the azimuth and the distance to the target spot are displayed on the display part 11 so that the mobile telephone set 1 can reduce the communication data.
